Ok so I was nervous but it wasnt as bad as expected Run 1 was ok as I was too distracted making sure I followed Laura's advice and put my heel down first and before I knew it booooooom 90 seconds done Runs 2 and 3 were tough because the lactic acid kicked in and made me feel a bit tired but by Run 4 I felt a little bit more in my stride and managed that ok. I wasnt even begging for Laura to say stop. Dare I even say that there was just the tiniest tiniest glimmer of a speck of a thought that this whole thing might even be do-able but that was so tiny it cant even be seen by the naked eye yet. Run 5 was ok because again I was too distracted trying to work out the mental arithmetic of how many 90 seconds + 2 minutes go into 20 minutes. At 5.30 in the morning thats so tough and my brain wasnt even anywhere near in gear. It took me 90 seconds of working out so I was too distracted to realise my running time was up!! Carol Vorderman wont be pleased at my pre 6am maths skills. I think thats what I need to do - keep distracted for the whole 20 mins. Run 6 wasnt that great as tiredness kicked in and I was ready for home but I DID IT. I'm hoping for a couple more of these before even thinking about running for 3 minutes next week. Eek.
W2R1 in the bag!!!: Ok so I was nervous but it... - Couch to 5K
W2R1 in the bag!!!
It sounds like you did great. You will surprise yourself next week, most likely. They thought it all out really well, and it works well. You won't know until you give it a go! Congratulations on completing week 2, good luck for your next run too. It easier when you keep your mind busy.
Brilliant - well done you Glad it went better than you expected, now you can look forward to the next run without a sense of dread. I'm out again tomorrow and I cant wait!
I am dreading it slightly. Only because I had thought incorrectly that I only had 5 runs to do so when the 6th came I just did it but now my body knows what to expect, 6 runs will seem a huge amount! Wasnt as bad as I expected but still taking this slowly.
I think all we can do is take it slowly, do what Laura says and tick every run off the list - here's to W2R2.
