Anyone else have a 2 mile nemesis?

I just find the first two miles an absolute killer. It's like the road hates me, my legs hate me, my brain is fighting against me................ and I just can't wait to get those 2 miles out of the way so I can get on with enjoying running. It's almost like my watch buzzes to say 2 miles and all of a sudden everyone is getting on and having fun!!! (ok not quite fun lol)

So I just wonder if am I alone with this 2 mile issue?

Yup unless I'm having an amazing day it always takes a while to get settled into a run...my breathing will be all over the place and my legs feel tight. I wouldn't say it's exactly at 2 miles but I've learnt now to power through cause it almost always gets better.

2 miles for me too! I tend to look at my Garmin and I noticed the first and second mile take forever! After that, I can tick off the miles so much easier. Yesterday, I covered my Garmin and listened to my body. After awhile, it seemed a bit better, I peeked, yep...it was a mile. I continued to run and once again listened to my body when it seemed easier. I was just then at the 2 mile mark. Gayle

Recently it's been 3 miles for me :(. I always find the last bit if the run most enjoyable.

Maybe that's why I am struggling at Parkrun...haven't quite got into my stride and its finished lol

Its about 10 minutes for me - which at the rate I go is nowhere near 2 miles!

Ten minutes for me too - though when I did my shorter run yesterday, which was only ten minutes long (but faster for me) it was ok. So I need to work out how to combine that into a longer run! :)

Same for me, first 20 minutes hell, in fact so mentally painful up until that point I mindfully set my goal at 30 mins but I've managed to do an hour or just over each time as once I get to 20+ mins I just seem to be able to push on and enjoy it :)
