I did the 2 lots of 8 minutes as required, maintaining an average pace of around 5.42 mins per k, which equates to a 5k time of 28.5 mins - and I still had enough in the tank to run for a further 3 mins on my way back home.
Stefliser advises me that it's 20 mins running next - hmm.........

I've always thought that the next run will be the one where I'll get a better idea of my true pace, but I'm pleased that each time the run gets longer my pace stays about the same. Thanks for the heads up though!
Thanks everyone. I'm really surprised that people are commenting on my pace. It feels to me like I'm running really slowly, especially when going uphill!
I fully expect to be a lot slower on my first 20 minute run tomorrow, but if I get to the end without stopping then I really don't care!
