I am new to this group although I do post on other groups.
I should start by giving you a brief incite into my history.. I'm 62 ex smoker/ex miner semi retired process worker. I have a few medical issues including been diagnosed with Stable Angina.
I recently went for a Lung CT scan the results show I have mild emphysema and C A C the later is probably known about as I have heart/circulation issues which I always related my breathlessness to, but now been told I have emphysema I began to think this could be a issue?
I have made a appointment with the GP to discus the issue and how I delay it illness progressing. I wheeze when lying down in bed, I get out of breadth when I exert my self is this a symptom? I always associated it with my Heart issues even the wheezing down to the fact that I'm bradycardic when in Bed.
What questions should I be asking my GP?
Is there a Rehab course I could go on to strengthen my lung capacity?
Thanks For your time take care
Chris

Good morning Bauldy. I can't answer questions about your specific condition. I have Severe copd and Asthma. But the course you asked about is the Pulmonary rehabilitation course. Which your doctor will be able to refer you too. You can also put Pulmonary rehabilitation exercises in You tube and that will give you exercises you can do at home or just walking around wherever you live. Take care and hope you get some help and answers. Brian
I wonder perhaps if you would be best be served by calling the Asthma Lung UK helpline and speak to one of the specialist nurses ? Many of us find them so helpful.
From what you have written is looks like you could benefit by some helpful guidance to know what to expect and ask about from your appointments to discuss your lung condition.
If you can get a treatment and self management plan from your health care professional you could find that very helpful and supportive.
Keep in touch and let us know how you get on won’t you ?
Ok so I saw my GP and he recommended that I should use a rescue spray (little blue one) and if I use it on a regular basis I would require a inhaler for daily use, I'm happy with this, he also advised me to carry on exercising/loose weight/eat healthy and stay away from dusty environments. I had already given up smoking . The C A C calcium around my heart is already known about and I take medication for that. Thanks for you time.....
