feeling unwell in the mornings

For months I have been feeling unwell and faint in the mornings - by the afternoon I feel perfectly well. I am getting up earlier and earlier in the mornings to try to get rid of the feeling. I have recerntly been diagnosed with hyperinflated lungs and I also have Malabsortion of Bile for which I take Colestyramine. Does anyone else have these symptoms? Your help could be invaluable. thanks.

Perhaps ask your doctor if you should have an overnight oximetry study. It could be you are not getting enough O2 while sleeping.

thank you very much for your reply. I shall investigate an Oximetry study. It does sound as if it is exactly what is happening to me.

Maybe an overnight oxygen study should be done. I use oxygen overnight, but not during the day. If I'm very active, my oxygen level drops making me feel light headed and weak. Once I stop, sit, and take some deep breaths, I feel better.

I feel the same way every morning. I have what is known as "long lungs" at end stage emphysema but not sure that has anything to do with it. Also re-diagnosed with Lyme disease (25 years of it). BUT.. I am still off supplemental 02 based on exercising thankfully. I had a sleep study and wasn't related. Let us know what you find out please.

I agree with having an overnight oxy study done - its very easy with a wristband they send you then you send it back. Why not? Doesn't hurt.

BUT I disagree with this being the reason your feeling bad in the mornings. My oxygen was dropping to less than 75 while I slept and I felt fine in the mornings. Suggested level is 88 and higher. So you can see how bad it was dropping.

Only the test would show this. And taking your oxygen reading as soon as you wake up is not a valid reading as it changes the minute you are awake and your oxygen levels start rising and it does not take long to get back up to correct level. So low oxygen while your sleeping would not carry over for hours after you are awake. And getting up earlier would not cause you to have more oxygen.

I would tell your doctor about this as it could be heart related or something with the blood flow to your head. Or hundreds of other causes.

Bottom line, we can only speculate in these forums since we are not doctors and do not have access to test results. So you just wind up with incorrect info and more stress to worry about something that is not even close to what the real issue is.

Get it checked out. Please

Honey, have you had an intensive session with the doctors? How are you now?

hi thanks for your interest. I have an oximeter which is consistantly 97 which seems OK. I have had blood tests and a thorough examination by the doctor. I am having more blood test in two weeks. The only result from the first tests were raised iron. I also have an appointment with the Respiratory unit. So I wait. thanks once again.
