Feeling Worse The Last Few Months...

The last few months I feel as though I have went downhill! Breathing is much worse, fatigue is worse, swelling in feet and ankles worse, chest and mid-section pain is much worse! Does this sound familiar? I also notice that I can smell things better and some of these smells really affect my breathing, especially outdoors! Does this sound familiar? Thanks for any replies!

This is my first time to reply to any posts but slcreek67's really hit home. I have been experiencing many of the same things in the last few months - breathing and fatigue are much worse. I do not however have any swelling or pain nor do I smell more. It broke my heart but last week I had to decline joining family members and close friends on a trip to Mexico to celebrate my older son's 50th birthday celebration. I would give anything to be able to breathe just a little better.

Hi Slcreek67, it sounds like your are either in a flare up or one is coming on. You need to contact your pulmonary doctor and let them know, you may need antibotic's. There are many things that if I smell them will cause me a problem. Get yourself a N95 respirator mask to wear when outside. You can also wear this inside whenever anything bothers you, like dusting or cleaning. For me I find putting dirty laundry in the washer always will cause me problems. Make sure to wash your hands often and use paper towels to wipe them. They are saying that just plain soap is better then the antibiotic soap. You need to walk as much as you can as this will strengthen the lungs, make sure you are drinking up to 12 8oz. glasses of water a day, this thins the mucus. Please keep us posted on how your doing.

I never imagined how various scents, smells, dust, etc. could attack with such ferociousness. They will cause a flare up in just a few seconds and anytime there is a flare up, you have to be on guard for the infection to follow. Make sure that you have an excellent air purifier for your bedroom and other rooms that you use. I also have Himalayan salt lamps. They help me tremendously. They also help children dealing with asthma and allergies (grandchildren that inherited our genes). Have their parents place them in their bedrooms.

And I have found them to be very effective. My daughter now uses them in both of her sons rooms after noticing the difference in my house. It has helped them tremendously in calming their allergies.

Yes,I have the same thing going on. I can only go out if it's not humid and certain smells do affect my breathing. I'm sorry your feeling worse as I know how awful it is.maybe as the weather cools it will help,I hope so.
