Well here we are again, thinking hospital visits are not good they find something else.My COPD is much better since my GP put me on Gaviscon 2 tabs after meals.I have come to terms with my Meniere's disease I am able to walk with a stick and got used to the tinnitus 24/7 just sometimes someone turns up the volume which is not nice. anyway an out of hours doc sent me for a gastrotimy after vomiting blood ,the result found a hiatus hernia and advised anemia check and colonoscopy. So gp advised same day to give me meds for the anaemia magic I felt much better after a few days. The colonoscopy found a tumor and I Waited for a couple of weeks while the hospital allocated me a surgeon. He spent well over an hour with self and wife.He was very positive and that stated that with surgery could cure 8 out of 10 patients '.I signed up for the op anda trial that was wanting to know whether intense physiotherapy before an operation would be more beneficial than post op.It involved 150 minutes a week of exercise.Operation over I was discharged home after 5 days, self caring and mobile enough to be able to walk 60 yards without aid other than my stick.I have now been home a week and living a 'normal life' Yesterday the surgeon rang my to tell me that he had the pathology results, there were no signs oc CA in the lymph glands and surrounding areas and I was 95% cured .Time for celebration.
Was the exercise a success, without doubt the increased strength in my arms and legs meant I could move myself around the bed unaided and I recovered from the op more quickly.
I know this is the COPD site but I have enjoyed contributing to and reading all your comments.
Sometime soon I will tell you about all the emotional baggage I took into hospital and how I tried to deal with it.
