You'll have to see both an allergist and a pulmonary(lung) Dr. to have tests done to determine if it's allergy related or if you do indeed have COPD. Follow along with what you have been given so far. It will be ok.
Hi, I understand your confusion. I have both ( my copd only mild), but only need to be treated for asthma right now. My pulmonary doctor was able to care for the the asthma as well. He prescribed asmanex once a day & that has been helpful. What helps me the most is walking. I breath better as a result of doing that. I hope you get referred to a good specialist. Pls keep us posted. I'll be praying for you. God bless, Terri
See a pulmonary doctor and get a pulmonary function test done, this way you will know if it's asthma or copd. some people including me have both asthma and copd. I'm not sure that you should be taking both Claritin and Zyrtec, they both do the same thing. I take Zyrtec and find it works good. Allergic to Claritin.
Does your insurance require you to get a referral from PCP? If not then call a pulmonary doctor and make an appointment yourself. Don't wait for some doctor to it.
