COPD and Cirrhosis

Hi Everyone.......I hope you are all travelling well. I am due to see a liver specialist and a respiratory specialist in about 4 weeks [I was meant to see them in February, but my anxiety went through the roof as I had a relapse with the wine and cigarettes, and I absolutely hate myself for it.] I was just wondering if anyone else has both of these conditions, and if any medication is not allowed because it might negatively effect one of these conditions. I'm really worried that I might need some medication for my COPD, for example, but my Cirrhosis will prevent me from taking this? I know that you lovely people cannot offer medical advice, but I would love to hear from people with shared, or similar experiences? Thank you so much. Shelley.

Shelley you are so young please try and give up on your smoking, you have your whole life ahead of you. Life can be hard and I don't know your circumstances but Please get help for your addictions. If you stop smoking now your COPD progression will slow down and you will have a better life. I cannot comment on your cirrhosis but please I'm sure your liver can repair itself to a certain extent.

Please please get help..I wish you the best of luck .

Wishing you a happier future.

Sending hugs from Wales.

Great news I'm with you all the way. My youngest Daughter gott diagnosed with cancer Dec 18th 2023. She spent all last year enduring a 6hour operation. 35 rounds of Radiotherapy and 5 rounds if Chemotherapy. The treatment was daily for 5 weeks. . She was so ill but endured the sickness and all the other side effects as she is a single Mum to my 16yr old Granddaughter. I am so proud of her as somedays she would crawl to the car to go for treatment as so week. Her will to live and her faith got her through. After 10months off work she is now back at work and given the all clear ..My daughter was 49 she's now 50 almost your age.

You can do it I have faith in you. Life is so precious and it won't be easy but you can do it.

Sending Welsh cwtches (hugs) .I'm here anytime xx lots of ❤️ xx.Sheila
