COPD and Blood pressure medication

Hi everyone

I have moderate Copd and have recently started medication for high blood pressure.

Ramipril 2.5mg and Amlodipine 5mg.

As s Copd sufferer should I worry about the ACE Ramipril cough? Or should I ask for ARB tablets?

I’m in the same boat: COPD plus the drugs mentioned. No issues to report; everything normal and OK.

Hiya ...... yeah know what you mean. On the advice of my GP I abandoned Ramipril completely - way back in August 2024. Cough has subsided significantly, but didn't do so quickly, took a few months. Not helped by the fact that I have weepy sinuses. Only very slightl increase to my blood pressure - currently around 132/78 and I remain on Felodopine and Sotalol. Average heart rate around 74 bpm.

Hi. I gave up Ramipiril with serious cough. Like you have COPD but also Heart Failure. Cardiologist said to take Irbersartan instead. No more cough and blood pressure normalish...please consult with your Dr though
