Hi my name is Cynthia and I found out I had COPD 2 years ago. I'm on 3 inhalers and oxygen at night. I get so depressed at times I used to be active now I can't hardly do anything.

I have the same feeling as far as depression. I love to go outside but can't do that because of either to hot or to cold. I am on oxygen 24/7, nebulizer, inhalers and meds. I have had copd for 16 years now. Hate it. Can't go on trips or go see my sisters because I have to take to many tanks with me. I am going to check on the portable one that you can easily carry. Not the bulky ones. Praying for you . Have a blessed day.

Hi Cynthia, you need to drink lots of water, this will keep the mucus thinned out, take your oxygen and go for short walks, when that gets comfortable go a little further. My doctor has me walking 3 days a week for 45 minutes. I always use my rescue inhaler just before I go and I do use either a cane or my rollator when I go walking. If you have an Airlift which you blow into use that as it will help make the lungs stronger. As for the depression I see a therapist weekly, I find just talking helps me a lot.

Hi Cynthia, Like you I was diagnosed 2 years ago but I ignored it until a few months ago when I got extremely sick from catching bronchitis from a child. During and after that all hell broke loose. Now I can't breathe if I try to do anything. I was recommended for clinical trials at doctors and went yesterday and they said I didn't qualify because my numbers for breathing were good don't understand I can't breathe. Well please take care and breathe easy.

Hi Cynthia. ..I know what u mean. I used to be such a good swimmer! I could swim the length of h9me pools 20 times without coming up for a breath! I used to body surf in the ocean! I loved it! Now, I can't run, ride bikes, swim, even walk a few feet without getting out of breath!
