Hello very nice to meet you. I am craft disabled I was/am a nanny for 20 years and crafting was a large part of entertaining the children, I am glad there and my crafting were about the same. I have copd and rhumatoid arthritis I only accepted the copd recently I was diagnosed last year but ignored it because that's how my mom died but got real sick this year, very recently, and had to accept it. I new here as well and hope to speak to you again soon.

Hi Doodlez thanks for getting back to me I appreciate it. Depression is so easy to fall into with copd there is only so much of your life you have left it's not alot. I don't think I going to be able to work in the field I have my whole working life being a nanny and that is a big one. I have no idea what to do my rent and bills are due and my bank account is overdrawn. You have got to eat. So I am trying to find easy work just to get by. How about you guys any ideas . Breathe easy,.

Also, regarding depression a few people mentioned above. Antidepressants have shortness of breath as a side effect. If anyone take antidepressants or anti anxiety meds (as many of us do), discuss with your doctor. I hate to see people struggling to breath and taking a med that makes breathing more difficult. just trying to help.

I'm pretty new to this site. I have been on 02 24/7. I think the depression is the hardest for me. I had an accident in 2006 and my foot and ankle have me lots of trouble for years. I was finally getting around good and got pneumonia that's when my copd got to where I need 02 24/7. I like to do crafts but just can't seem to want to. My daughter and I did 37 puzzles and glued them, her hubby framed a few,but we r,burnt out them now. I just can't get motivated.

Hi All :) ...Boy did I get busy for many days !! Had company & the heat here in AZhas been rare & dangerous !! Yep I have stayed in !! A friend gave me a piece of sun-shade for my craft room ..WOWZA awesome stuff ..my room cooled down 10 degrees ( I have window AC ) so I hung it yesterday. .now I can be in my sewing room all day ..the temps here have gone down a few degrees whew !! Ihope to return to walking with some friends ..they now go out about 5am hmmm not sure I can do 5am ..lol ...takes me a bit to get going in the morns . While my daughter was here she hooked up my karaoke machine ..have had it for yrs have about 2700 songs ..nothing lately ..BUT let me share with U singing karaoke is a great thing for COPD everyone sings & its fun ..ifU can find a machine I strongly urge u to get one & some karaoke CDs ... ..Its the best exercise for lungs & u get better & better ..well breathing anyway !! The heat here had been horrible. Glad you made it thru also. I hope the monsoons hit soon and really cools things off.

Love the karaoke idea. Singing sure expands the lungs.
