For a couple years now I've been having bowel trouble. Either it's constipation or diarrhea; there's no in-between.For the past 6months Ive seen a mucus in my stool. Sometimes that's all there is?? For the past few days I've been bleeding as well...like a lot. I see clots as well. It feels like there's something hard in my lower abdomen; sometimes left side, sometimes right. Also, for the past y months, everytime I need to use the bathroom, I start to feel really bad...migraines nausea, just an overall horrible feeling that goes away after I use the bathroom. I don't eat much but still continue to go. Thoughts?

Mucus, blood, and blood clots
Hi jjfunkyfresh,
Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I hate to hear you're having to deal with these symptoms. Things have been going on for a couple of years and now you're noticing an escalation. Mucus in the stool is definitely something you would want to get checked out. The cause could be a wide variety of many different things. Dehydration and Constipation have been known to contribute to that symptom. How was your hydration?
The two other symptoms that you mentioned definitely warrant getting checked out by a doctor. Anytime there's blood in the stool you need to find the answer for what's causing that. Especially when you say it's a lot of blood. That can also be caused by many different things. Your doctor can take you through some tests to determine what's going on. You also added that there's something going on with your lower abdomen.
You have mucus, blood in the stool, and lower abdominal issues all of which need to need to be checked out. You need answers so go ahead and get in front of your doctor and get these things addressed. I would think you should be getting a colonoscopy is a part of getting you good answers. That is one of the tools that's very good at determining what's going on. I would get the ball rolling as soon as you can.
We do wish you the very best in finding good answers to what you are experiencing. Get in front of your doctor and get things sorted out. Please let us know what you find out as this type of information can be helpful to others on this site.
Thank you,

After X-rays, CAT scan, and blood work, it turns out I'm officially full of s&!π>. Constipation is what I'm being told. Colonoscopy to be scheduled. Drink a bunch of Miralax until then
