I had some blood tests today. the nurse said the results will be back by tomorrow. My appointment with the doctor is tomorrow. I'm worried about bowel cancer. I know I will need a Colonoscopy to see what's happening. I am terrified of going tomorrow. What can they tell by the blood tests I wonder.

Hi benmaise,

I believe your appointment with your doctor was today. I hope everything went well and to your expectations.

As far a blood tests, it depends on what is ordered. There are actually some blood tests out there that can detect cancer like Galleri. Please google it. Remember, early detection is critical.

The Galleri test is groundbreaking. It detects cancer-specific DNA in the blood and predicts where that cancerous DNA originated in the body. Results are learned quickly, which means early detection and, when necessary, early intervention are possible right away.

These blood tests are important because many cancers don't have any indicators or symptoms until they get to the later stages and then they are more difficult to fight.

Please let us know how things turned out today.🤟🧡👍

Thanks ... Tom

The Doctor said all my results were perfect. She said I have IBS. She just said if I had Cancer it would have shown in the blood. Hopefully, she's done the one to detect cancer. I am now waiting for a Colonoscopy appointment. Thank you so much for your advice.

Hello Benmaise! I would still recommend that you have a colonoscopy performed to make sure about what is going on with you. I had a blood test done on me a couple of weeks ago, and no markers were present in my bloodwork either. Now remember that the GCCA-Survivor was saying that about indicators, and symptoms happening happening in the later stages…Sometimes this can also be with blood as well. I have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, but does not show up in any of my bloodwork that I have done. But it did show when I had my colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, CT, MRI, and PET scan. So please get your colonoscopy done just to know for sure. Thank you!
