Are stool DNA tests accurate? I’ve been having troubles completing bowl preparations for colonoscopy. I’ve had a flexible sigmoidoscopy and abdominal ultrasound and blood tests all come back 100% normal (except a hemorrhoid) I’m wondering if a stool test would be an okay test to do. I’m 24 and symptoms are black flecks in stool never the whole stool (I do eat lots of herbs though), sometimes gas and one time I had thin stools lasting less than a day

If it helps, I had a genetic blood scan at a well known DNA testing site. It told me I was not Predisposed to corectal/bowel cancer. 5 months later I was diagnosed with the same cancer. My advice is get a second opinion. It’s probably nothing at all but I would advise it.
Please contact your doctor so that he/she can assess your symptoms. If you and your doctor decide colorectal cancer screening is advised, please visit our Global Colon Cancer Association website to learn more about screening options, such as: FIT, FOBT, Barium Enema, Sigmoidoscopy, Virtual Colonoscopy, Traditional Colonoscopy.
