Fit test high : Hi my daughter who is... - Colon Cancer Conn...
Fit test high
When will she be seeing the doctor?
Shes got a phone call appointment from hospital tomorrow i presume to talk about colonspony
Yup good to go for the colonoscopy, rather than any other test before that to rule out anything sinister
Do you have anymore information to ease my anxiety what else it could be
It can be a small hemorrhoid, or any benign polyps, or any tears. I had blood in stool just last two months so I went for colonoscopy as well
How high was your fit test
Hi Ivanov,
Thanks for posting with us. Anytime there is blood in the stool, there needs to be an answer for it. I am so glad your daughter is getting things checked out. Answers are what you need and you are well on the way getting them. If the answer can't be determined by the physical exam, the colonoscopy is absolutely the best way to get answers. And please know that what you are seeing as far as symptoms could be caused by many different things.
One question to ask is if there is anything hereditary disease history in your family? Anyone have similar issues in the past? This is good information for the doctor to know as that could lead to other tests that would be beneficial.
The blood being seen could be from hemorrhoids, polyps, ulcer, fissure tear, many treatable things. A lot of different things besides the big “C” could be going on here. It’s the not knowing that leads to the anxiety which is why we need to narrow down the possibilities. You are on the way to doing just that.
Also, it is so beneficial to catch things early and that’s exactly what you are doing. Your daughter is young and that’s a big positive on your side. Never accept a diagnosis that says it couldn’t be something because she’s young. Find the answer based on the symptom.
Please don’t be worried. You are doing all the right things. I find focusing on what you can control is beneficial. Nutrition, hydration, attitude and doing the preparation for the colonoscopy properly are all important. I think you are on the best track to get great answers and moving on to being well👍❤️. And please let us know what you find out. It is that type of information that can be helpful to others on this site as well.
Thank you,

Hi thank you for your kind words the only thing that i can think of but i dont know if its hereditary is ultrative colitus
Ok ... that's a type of IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) with the symptom you describe. It would be worth mentioning if it's someone directly related to your side of the family. It may not be hereditary, but just sometimes common.
You'll get it narrowed down. You're on the right path to doing that.❤️👍
Hi she had phone call from hospital today and besides her fit test been high her other stool sample showed inflammation could that mean anything else
Maybe just inflammation and what appointment next week?? Colonoscopy??
She got colnoscopy on 6 November
So what does the doc say after the colonoscopy
Shes got it on monday
Getting the answer today?
hi, the only thing I can say, in my experience that, when I mentioned bright red blood on tissue after wiping…. Doctors weren’t concerned and sounded encouraged by that 🤨
I saw another doctor about this issue two months later. He saw there were old hemehroids And a small tear in a crease of analog area. Skin excruciated as well. I had to apply cream for two weeks, thrn take a FIT test. I got 7 ug s or whatever the letter abbreviation is. So it was left at that.
Does ur daughter have other symptoms. It really can be a range of things like; IBS, IBD, crohn’s, benign polyps etc. a lot can go wrong with our bowels nowadays. Any obstruction can cause grief and bleeding. It’s the not knowing that’s the worst. It’s the wait to find out that is also a pig as well.
You should find soon though. The hospital isn’t dragging its feet. Fingers crossed it’s nothing really bad and can be either cured of managed.
Good luck to you both.
Agree with all that has been said. Blood in the stool can be caused by many things, some quite harmless. If your daughter has lifestyle factors that increase her risk for colon cancer, she should start by mitigating those ---even if the diagnosis is that she doesn't have cancer now. Some of the factors are very well known: family history, smoking, unhealthy weight, bad diet with insufficient fiber and so on. Others are just being discovered by scientists, such as owning a cat. I was surprised to learn that handling cat litter is not a good thing if you're concerned about colon cancer!

Anyways, your daughter is ahead of the game because she has you helping her to monitor her health. Good luck to you and, in the meantime, try not to worry too much before you actually have answers from her doctor.🙂
