Hello Tatty10, thank you for sharing and posting on our online community. I'm sorry to hear about your past health challenges and now your most recent diagnosis of colon cancer. I hope you'll find support and comfort in our online community.

How frustrating to have the wound infection, hoping that will clear up and that you'll be able to focus on the road to recovery.

Did you have genetic (biomarker) testing at any point? Curious if there may be a hereditary factor as you mentioned melanoma.

You mention you wonder what else you'll have to deal with... as a cancer survivor you already know that there can be unexpected challenges at every turn. Will you be having any other treatment other than the surgery you've already had?

I hope that infection clears up so you can focus on the next steps to recovery - hang in there and please keep posting, we're here for you.

Hi Nicole I was not offered any biomarker even though they were aware of my melanoma gene . The only person who has spoken to me regarding the colon cancer diagnosis was a Macmillan nurse so still waiting for all the details from my consultant I do realise that everything is been dealt with so differently now due to the COVID but I do need to hear from my consultant as I am feeling abandoned, having my dressings changed this afternoon and hopefully the infection should be clearing up and also finished the antibiotics. I have in the past had fantastic support and advice from this community and find it a comfort to speak to others going through similar situations.
