Prominent UK Consultant?

Hi everybody,

Can anybody please suggest a prominent UK consultant who is ahead of the curve in Colon oncology?

My Mum has had an 'iffy' CT scan which may be showing Colon Cancer.

She has had diverticulitis confirmed on the same CT as well, which we expected as back at Christmas she had abdominal cramps and constipation, and start of feb she had abdominal cramps for a couple of days as well.

She's had no symptoms of anything for 6 months now though, since early Feb, and one would expect that the symptoms would have persisted if from a malignancy

The scan did see 'MILD asymmetrical bowel thickening ' and multiple tiny pericolic lymph nodes. I know they are much more occurring in colon cancers, but can be seen in diverticulitis as well.

No paraaortic lymphadenopathy, and liver, kidneys and basal lungs clear.

The radiologist said on the balance of probability the sigmoid colon changes are from the diverticulitis, but can't rule out malignancy as it needs visualising with a sigmoidoscopy.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My Dad has had prostate cancer for over twenty years so I'm no stranger to cancer in general, and have done pretty much everything along the way with my Dad.
