It’s been awhile for an update, here is the latest. I’m at Day plus 127 from my Bone Marrow Transplant. I saw my doctor (main specialist) on day+119. This was after a BMBiopsy +105 and colonoscopy +109!

Those results revealed the great and not so good! There’s no sign of cancer in my BoneMarrow, and DNA sent out to Mayo Clinic accessed my mutation (B-Cor) that caused aggressive nature and probable transformation to Richters, no longer present! Fabulous news!

The other aspects of GI distress, blood type change over (O positive to O negative), and edema in my legs still need to be resolved. Once the change in the blood occurs, expected soon, my red blood cell counts will rise quickly eliminating my anemia. I did get a bag of blood on day+119. The GI, colonoscopy revealed a lot of inflammation and lesions. There was great suspicion that it is Graft Vs Host Disease, yet tests could not totally confirm this. I’ve had some other tests and they’ve resulted in me being treated with a medication Creon (Zenpep). This is used to help break down food when the pancreas is not working properly. We shall see the results from this treatment in about a week.

On the 14th of November I will have a full body PET scan to check for any other signs of cancer. In the meantime I will revel in the no cancer diagnosis, work towards resolving the other issues, AND even had a haircut because of regrowth!

A lot of good news, glad to hear it.

With your doctors consent, you may want to look into one of those foot pedal devices to use under a desk or in a chair while watching tv. My wife has purchased one recently, as her legs are swelling and she's getting skin issues not quite eruptions but after seeing my mother's lymphedema, it wouldn't surprise me.

So if it helps good, if not, don't bother with it. 🙂

Thank you for the suggestion, I have seen those advertisements.

Actually I do a lot of walking, exercise and stretching. Compression socks help a lot. Hills and stairs ( Up) are the biggest problem.

Thx for the update Fiart. Its great news that your cancer can't be found. Good luck with your Petscan and in resolving the "not so good" issues. Getting rid of the cancer is the main thing. Now they just need to tackle the other problems one by one. Please keep up the updates. Jeff

I will Jeff. I should be doing flips over the no cancer, I do feel the joy. Yet the other issues are immediate and uncomfortable so it becomes a focus. I’m confident they will get resolved.

The no cancer news is great news. I am glad the bone marrow transplant worked effectively. And, my wish is that your medical team finds an answer to the other not-so-great issues.
