My Daughter lives 2 hours away so is a treat when she visits with our granddaughter!!! However its a theme now as before they visit its the dreaded news Isla has a virus !! Cold and chesty cough, 😷 Dad will you be ok seeing her , well she is my granddaughter and dont get to see her from one month to the next , i say yes every time but still have the man on my shoulder saying “you dont want to catch a cough” , this is the hardest part of my CLL which i never expected to have to make a choice for health reasons to see my family! Im still on watch and wait and believe im invincible! I know this must be a struggle for others .

It is probably the hardest part of this whole mess. It's not the dying, it's the living with these choices.

The best you can do is make sure all non-live vaccinations are up to date.

This is a hard one for me as i like so much information! Im not a conspiracy theorist but with all the emerging information about the covid vaccine and mortality rates it certainly does make you think! I have has the so called tried and tested flu, shingles and pneumonia and hepatitis ones , then I read that studies were done that people who took the flu vaccine were 4.4 times more likely to get another virus and primes you for COVID 19. ( Robert Kennedy)

Could you provide a link to that study? That statement doesn't sound very reasonable standing on its own.

I've extensively followed the emerging information on COVID-19 vaccines and the associated claims for that and other vaccinations. No vaccine is perfectly safe, but they are also very carefully assessed before approval can be granted, far more so than new drugs. That's because they are intended to be given to healthy, not ill people and those healthy people may never actually be exposed to what the vaccination protecting against. In all the reputable studies I've seen, risks from vaccination are lower than the risks from the disease. There are actually quite a few studies showing unexpected benefits from flu vaccination, particularly with respect to providing cardiovascular benefits, for example Influenza vaccination as secondary prevention for cardiovascular disease pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/378... as well as the similar meta-analysis articles listed afterwards.

I'd be interested if you can find that referenced study, but when I look into the background of anyone arguing against the safety of vaccinations, I generally find that they are pushing supplements - often unproven and also with their health risks, are researchers trying to gain more recognition who have faked trial data, etc., are financially benefiting from advertising, donations to a benefiting charity, have patents on their own vaccine, or have some other conflict of interest, such as payments stemming from litigation against pharmaceutical companies. See for example washingtonpost.com/nation/2... plus

Do COVID-19 vaccines cause “turbo cancer”, in particular hematological malignancies, such as CLL?

Are you referring to RFK Jr? The man spreading deliberate misinformation about vaccines/vaccination?

Please consider double checking things you read from mainstream media sources with medical ones. The known side effects of Covid vaccine that *occasionally* or *rarely* occur (like the myocarditis), occur at a higher rate from the disease itself.

Re: the upcoming visit, if you can avoid "their breath directly on your face", turning your head for kisses (so on the cheek, not lips) and for hugs, that minimizes the "breath in your face". Plus washing your hands with soap/water frequently, and do not touch your face unless you*have* freshly washed hands. So if I had a sneeze urgently coming on,I sneeze into my shoulder or crook of my elbow, instead of using a hand that may be contaminated. Although I suppose, if we started sneezing/coughing on to the backs of our hands instead of palms, we would be less likely to transmit things on our fingers!

My understanding is that influenza is the highest of the 4 viruses going around right now, in the US. IDK where you are at, but many places are following the same pattern.

I live with my three kids 🙂they are 5, 8 and 11. I teach a class of thirty 6-year olds. I take every vaccine possible, especially flu and covid! I try to stay of top of personal hygiene (hand washing and tissues)...not much more I can do...but I do try to avoid meeting other friends and family when they are sick - if I can minimise the risk a bit, I do. I can't choose to stay away from my own children or not to work...it's a hard one, isn't it...when my babies are sick and need kisses and cuddles, I give them millions of them...I would never do it any other way...
