Four years after FCR or chemo treatment, and three and a half years after Gyzava or immunotherapy now I am taking Brukinsa. Does anybody have a similar experience? How long can Brukinsa keep me going? Thank you
Brukinsa: Four years after FCR or chemo... - CLL Support
Brukinsa
Brukinsa/zanubrutinib is a very new BTKi which has only recently been approved, so it's not possible to give you an answer for how long Brukinsa is likely to keep working. Some of those on maintenance therapy with ibrutinib/Imbruvica, the first BTKi drug approved for CLL, have been able to keep their CLL under control for over 10 years now, but the median time is around 6 to 7 years. Given many quit ibrutinib because they couldn't put up with the side effects, I expect the long term results from acalabrutinib/Calquence, a very similar BTKi to Brukinsa, will give you a better idea of what you can expect. Acalabrutinib and Brukinsa are much better tolerated than ibrutinib.

I don't have any experience with your treatment regimen. I had Gyzava ( 6 months) and venetoclax (12 months).
I just finished in July one one year treatment plan. I've been tested once a month since then and my blood has gotten better every month since stopping in mid July. In fact it hasn't been this good in 8-9 years.
My Dr said that when my CLL comes back (hopefully in a long time) I could go back on the venetoclax since it worked so well. Not familiar with Brukinsa/zanubrutinib.
All I know is I had zero side effects with either drug. My Dr liked this regimen because it had fewer side effects . For me- it was perfect! Good luck too you!
