I was diagnosed in 2020 with CLL/SLL. I had a 6.3 cm lymph node excised for biopsy. Following diagnosis I underwent radiation treatments to my axilla and subpectoral areas. Four infusions of Rituxan were administered. I was in watch and wait mode for 4 years. I then noticed several enlarged lymph nodes in my neck / collarbone areas. My CLL specialist ordered CT scans which showed many enlarged lymph nodes in the abdomen and neck/collarbone areas. The largest in the abdomen was 5.3 cm in length while the largest in my neck / collarbone was 2.8 cm.. My oncologist could not feel any of the nodes in my abdomen. He recommended that I start treatment. We discussed options and decided on Brukinsa. I just completed the first cycle (28 days) and met with him last Friday. He was amazed at the reduction in size as he could not feel any enlarged lymph nodes in my neck/collarbone area. He is hopeful that the nodes in my abdomen have shrunk to the same extent. My bloodwork is essentially normal. I am scheduled to have CT scans after the third cycle in October. The only side effect experienced so far is a rash on my arm, forehead, head and waste. There is no itching. I am very optimistic!

Amazing results from Brukinsa
As someone who has just started on this treatment, I’m very pleased and reassured to hear of your excellent progress. Long may it continue! 👍
Newdawn
everything sounds good and everyone is different. Keep up with doctors advice. Just be very careful not to get sick and treat any infection right away while on Ritixan. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks
I'm taking Brukinsa (zanubrutinib) and not Rituxan. I did take Rituxan in 2020. Interestingly, my oncologist told me that it provides an effect for 2 years.
Am in year 12. Did several infusions that held only for a year or two, and other pills that had side effects. Have been on Brukensa (Zanibrutinib) for 2.5 years and my blood work is in normal range with few side effects. Take heart. You have a very common cancer and therefore much research is being done on it. New advances every year! Stay as active as your fatigue and health permits; it is good for your mind and body. Best Wishes
