I just wanted to share that I received some positive news from Clonoseq blood test. This is a blood test for MRD. It did not detect any CLL. So, my doctor has scheduled a bone marrow biopsy to do further testing. If that too comes back negative, I will be able to go off treatment. I started my diagnosis at stage 4, in Summer of 2021 and immediately began combination therapy of Calquence plus . I know it is unusual to reach uMRD with BTKs alone, but I am hopeful to reach it with the combo therapy.

You are right about Calquence + Obinutuzumab being far more likely to get you to uMRD; an early trial of ibrutinib, the first generation version of Calquence/acalabrutinib managed to get 10% of the trial patients into uMRD after 4 years, but the majority of those clinical trial patients had their CLL successfully managed, with some recently going into their second decade of BTKi maintenance therapy management. Combination therapies aim to get you to uMRD within a year or two of treatment, after which you resume on watch and wait.
