Further to my previous post, I have seen my hematologist this afternoon and my results he advises are good and I have the 'BCLL,' type? Q: Is that the lower grade / better one to have?
I have got a print out of my blood test today. Results are;
WBC = 13.29
RBC = 5.04
HGB = 153
PLT = 228
NEUT = 4.36
LYMPH = 7.73
And my genetics test has shown no deletions in ATM or TP53.
He believes I have had CLL since 2013 and possibly earlier but they have no results for me pre 2013. In 2013 my LYMPH was 6.5. My previous visit in June 2015 when I was advised of CLL my LYMPH was 9.7 but clearly has now gone down to 7.73 to day.
He stated, "It might not progress to anything" and that depending on whatever scale you look at, i'm either 'A' or at '0' stage.
I'm trying to be positive with the above, but can anyone advise / reassure me further?
My next appointment is in 3 months time.
Kind Regards

Well they are are very handsome set of figures for someone with BCLL which I understand simply means B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Someone will correct me if there's some kind of distinction within that but I think it's simply confirming what you knew you had in the first place.
It's looking good and I'd be delighted with those figures and general profile though presumably you haven't had a FISH test? I take it you have no other symptoms such as enlarged nodes?
It could take so long for those figures to amount to anything worrying that you'll have lost interest by then!
Certainly sounds like a FISH test then with excellent prognostic factors but I'll leave that to the scientific gurus on here to explain in more detail.
Your levels are excellent and you sound to be in good shape and not symptomatic.
Certainly time to celebrate and let go of that troubled mind!
Thanks Peggy! Not sure about being relieved, like all of us I wish I never had it! I was such full of beans, life and soul of any party, happy go lucky but that's gone...enough of the doom & gloom, I have took the positives and been out for a meal and had 3 beers on a school night!!
Ah, you can still be all of those things. Yes, life has changed and we have no choice but to accept it but think of the good news from today and how you would have felt if things hadn't looked so positive. As I've said before, yes we have to learn to live with a big rain cloud hanging over us but somedays how much it rains depends on us. Don't ruin what you have today by worrying about what may happen tomorrow. Life for us will be a rollercoaster ride. Lets try to enjoy the 'ups' for there are plenty. New treatments are coming out all the time. Stay positive :-))
