Maybe a third shot is in order for CLLers? I guess we'll see as more trials come out. If anyone has had a third shot would be interesting to hear.

I had the two Pfizer vaccine shots in February, tested negative for antibodies in May and had the J&J vaccine yesterday. In consultation with my cll doc, I paused acalbrutinib a few days before the J&J shot and will resume acalabrutinib in a few weeks. I will retest for antibodies in August some time.
I remain convinced I did get some covid protection from the Pfizer shots, but who knows? I am not expecting to get antibodies from the J&J vaccine, but who knows? Its worth a try for me.
How many days do you plan to be off the Alcalabrutinib in total? Any expected side effects?
Good luck!!!
I think I am to stay off acalabrutinib about three weeks after the vaccination. I had no side effects from any of my vaccine shots or from jumping off acalabrutinib. I had actually hoped I would have at least some reaction to the J&J, even though they say that lack of a side effect to a vaccine does not mean you have not gotten a good immune response.
Hi Jeff:
How did you decide on J&J for your booster? I like you had the Pfizer vaccines earlier in 2021 and I’m ready to pursue a booster. I am scheduled for a normal CLL check up later this month and will be interested to hear what advice I receive.
Thanks
Mark
Had the Pfizer shots in February got tested in April as usual no response. Took Moderna dose mid May tested in June low (16) response took last one end of June. Will get another test in August.
Of relevance to us:
"Boosters may be necessary for immunocompromised people. In one study, 39 of 40 kidney transplant recipients and a third of dialysis patients failed to make antibodies after vaccination. Another study identified 20 patients with rheumatic or musculoskeletal diseases on medications that suppress the immune system who also did not have detectable antibodies. Both of these studies were done after patients received the full vaccine dose.
Boosters have been shown to help in these cases. In one study, one-third of solid organ transplant patients who had a suboptimal response to two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines were able to develop an antibody response with a third dose". theconversation.com/do-i-ne...
And of general relevance:
"Pfizer and BioNTech have released initial data from a study on booster shots for their COVID-19 vaccine, saying a third dose delivered about six months after the second shot has shown neutralization titers are five to 10 times higher than after two primary doses".
"Pfizer said real-world evidence from Israel showed a decrease in efficacy about six months after people were fully vaccinated".
"The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a joint statement Thursday evening pumping the brakes on the need for a booster shot yet, and encouraged people to get vaccinated in general. Less than 50% of the U.S. is fully vaccinated at this time".
"Americans who have been fully vaccinated do not need a booster shot at this time," the agencies said in the statement".
Yes. Biggest risk seems if you're having treatment or have had it within Six months- I am guessing that after that time your immune system begins to recover although altho I haven't seen that written down. Does anyone here know or are we permanently immune compromised by treatment?
I had two Pfizer doses in January February. Tested at the end of March with result of .48. Had the J and J on May 29 and tested on July 2. Results: 1.1
Rather disappointing, to say the least. I had completed a clinical trial in August of 2020-- five months before my first shot.
I have robust levels of T cells and am hoping that they may help. Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Minnesota (where I am treated) hoped it would be starting a convalescent plasma study this summer but I haven't heard anything more about it.
Not sure what the numbers mean but as you were within 6 months on first jabs it didn't have such an effect whereas 3rd was much better? Maybe you need another booster in a bit and that'll do the trick? Anyway seems a good idea that if we have lower defenses they give us some additional antibodies if we get ill
I took a third Pfizer two weeks ago due to no antibodies. Haven’t been tested again yet.
Took J&J (3/6), then LabCorp test 1 yielded 100.5 U/ml on 4/20. 10.5 weeks later, got Pfizer #1 (5/19), then 2 weeks after that Pfizer #2 (6/9).
Getting LabCorp test 2 this Tues (7/13), that’s 5 weeks post-Pfizer #2. Shall see if going 3-shot rogue works in my case.
Not advocating this since there is no completed studies/data on it, yet. My docs said additional vaccine shot side-affects risks were their main risk concern. Weathered that. Maybe I was lucky?
What level of antibodies is considered protected?
Thanks,

What level of antibodies is considered protective is the 64 million dollar question. I suspect that for the same reason that some of us with very low Ig counts get few infections and others with healthy Ig counts get far more infections, any guidance will only be of a broad, statistical nature - WHEN we get some infection history from those who have been involved in the antibody and T cell studies after their COVID-19 vaccinations. Hence the importance of maintaining other preventive measures that have kept most of us safe so far.

I had my scheduled visit with NIH today and was told that the study is still in progress re a 3rd pfizer shot so a decision has not yet been made, but the NIH doctor seemed fairly positive that once the study is completed, a 3rd pfizer shot will more than likely be recommended. Those weren't his exact words, but that is what I took away from my conversation with him. They seemed to be getting close to making a decision soon (a month or two away?), but it is definitely premature at this time.
I had a third shot recently. After the first two in January, my antibodies were 1.92, after the third shot they jumped to >2500. All were Pfizer.
