I had my second day of chemo today after a bad night not being able to sleep because of restless legs. Consultant said it was the chemo - Bendamustine and Rituximab. Can I do anything about it? I 'm going for a lie down xx

There is some evidence that IN SOME RLS Cases, iron deficiency may be a factor--it appears nothing is proven, but there are possibilitites to have checked: Iron levels, kidney function are two.

This article is from 2016 and involved, but it gives a review of different diseases and RLS--not CLL specific, though blood diseases is mentioned, somewhere in the mix--it is long. Hope it gives you a way to at least have some investigation into your specific situation. You need good sleep, esp. while in treatment.

I'm guessing that you might have gotten a steroid as one of your pre meds. If so that could be playing into the problem.

I beleive you are correct. I had steroids with my BR treatment and I was wound up a couple of the nights after treatment. Couldn’t sleep, lots of energy, etc.

Yes, Back in September I had a short course of steroids.

I am not in treatment but have a history of restless legs. It seems that they are too warm, although the rest of me, including feet are not too warm. So if getting covers off of legs doesn't work I point a small fan on legs. Works for me and costs nothing to try.

I have gotten RLS from medications. The best tonic for me was to elevate my legs at bedtime for about 10 minutes - usually propping them up against the wall while in bed. Then to avoid getting up after that.

I had the same problem with that treatment and found that using 1 mg of Ativan really helped. It worked almost right way.
