I have a question about Prostate Cancer and CLL/SLL. My husband had his annual Urology appointment Monday and his PSA was 15. Doctor ordered a 4K Blood test to score the prediction of his risk of aggressive Prostate Cancer and his score was 51. He is to have a biopsy on July 9. He has been on Imbruvica for 2 and a half months and am wondering if there is any correlation of his disease and treatment to the Prostate problem? He was on Rituxan and IVIG for 2 years before starting Imbruvica. He is 75 and has had CLL about 20 years and SLL for 2 and a half years.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi, I have CLL, been on Imbruvica for 2.5 years and now have prostate cancer. I don't know if there is a correlation or not. They scheduled me to have my prostate removed in September.
My PSA shot up to 13 following a severe UTI involving 6 days in hospital. This also turned out to spell the end of my 6 year post FCR remission. I was and am on IVIG every 4 weeks. My urologist recommended biopsy with no mention of the 4K test. I have heard bad things about biopsies and postponed the decision. Based on dietary research I cut out coffee and dairy. My only caffeine was and is 1 or 2 cups of green tea in the morning. I also limit sugar and avoid fructose completely. Within 3-4 months my PSA had dropped enough (6) to satisfy my oncologist that we could skip the biopsy much to my relief. My last PSA was 5.16 which is acceptable for 67 years old. I can only attest to my experience. I’m sure this won’t work for everyone but shared experiences are what we need.
My husband, not a CLLer, recently had a prostate biopsy and I must urge you to make sure your husband has anesthesia for the procedure. My husband was not offered it and it was brutal.
I assume that Versed affects everyone differently but I had it during a BMB and it did absolutely nothing- and I mean nothing - for me. The following one I had IV sedation. It's not that they are (BMB) are that bad if the one doing it is experienced but it just makes me so nervous that I shake the whole time.
