My alt level is 41 I am 62 is that normal x v

I was told that an alt upto 35 is ok, but 41 is only a little over so should be ok. My last was 46 and as it had reduced from 197 they were pleased with that, as was I! It will probably be monitored though.

Thank you for joining our forum.

Unfortunately it is not possible for anyone to give you a defnitive answer here as each laboratory that analyses results will have a different reference range, and these can vary widely.

It would be advisable to speak to your doctor to find out if your results are within the 'normal' range for the laboratory that processed the results and ask the doctor's advice on the next steps if not.

Liver Function tests can vary and therefore if a person has results outside the normal range then repeat tests would normally be made a few weeks later and further tests undertaken if the overall trend is outside normal range.
