For 8 months now with my ALT levels are moderately high at 60 the cutoff is 29.Had normal fibroscan and MRI have been testing every month and sometimes every two weeks in the past 8 months with levels going down to 31 and then back ups again the following month .My ggt and other bloodwork has all been fine my cholesterol is at 220 a little high.Anyone have an issue with only ALT elevated?

Hi Kashabb, I also have this issue and it’s driving me mad. I just posted my story a few days back if you want to check it out but I don’t have answers really. Have you had an ultrasound or any imaging done? Hope you find answers soon!

Yes they said there was no fatty liver and had a 7mm nodule that they feel confidant is benign and had 3 month ultrasound and it didn’t grow.I also had autoimmune panel done as well from my liver specialist and it’s was negative. So frustrating.

I also am in my 40s and have health anxiety which has become worse since I lost my dad to cancer this past year. I rarely drink these past 8 months and my doctor said since my ggt test is normal and no other blood work is elevated it doesn’t look like it has anything to to with alcohol.I do drink tea every night but it’s chamomile and green tea in the morning I eat lots of healthy fruits and vegetables more then ever now as well.I exercise by walking each day but only a mile or 2 before this I would exercise every day prior to covid doing about 6 miles a day and then stopped for the last year with so much going again in my life.Wish I knew what was causing this.

My husband has elevated Alt but until it goes well over 100 the doctor's said they do not do any check or anything. The Dr seemed to think that it was caused by taking statins as he is on the highest dose 80mg. He has to have this dose as he had quintuple bypass surgery a few years ago due to blocked arteries in his heart. Anyway he does not seem to worry about it and still has alcohol socially and sometimes a beer at home.

Thanks for your reply.I’m glad he’s ok I have some electrical issues with my heart and pvcs so I know how it can be scary dealing with heart issues.I don’t take any medication and stopped all vitamins 8 months a ago and it didn’t make a difference at all .I just started taking magnesium and Quinol the last 2 months and milk thistle since it shouldn’t have interactions with elevating liver. I do take hydroxozine 3 times week for hives st night but liver specialist said that should not affect alt levels .Autoimmune test came back negative. They think the hives are from stress. .Wish I could just figure out what causes Alt only to go up to worried for it to become an issue over time and cause damage that can’t be repaired.
