Just had second fibroscan and really pleased with results. Last readings were 20.4 and now they are down to 10.9 CAP score is higher but the Nurse said this is the fat around the liver and just need to get rid of it but more concerned about pka score. I'm determined to get it down further 🍌🚶‍♂️🚴‍♂️💯. Well chuffed 👌

Well you have already done the hard work as it’s extremely tough to get that liver stiffness down so I’m sure you will smash getting your weight down even more and improving your overall health that much more too given the strides you have already made.

Thanks Grassroots 112.I think having to get the stiffness level down has made me more determined to get it down further after all the hard work and getting the finished result. Fingers crossed I'll smash it again. Onwards and Upwards 🤞

Yes, I was diagnosed with Decompensated Cirrhosis in September 2021. I am now in Compensated state with the help of abstinence from alcohol and cigarettes, healthy diet and exercise.

My CAP score has gone up to 262. Was told it was excess fat around liver so I need to try and get it down.

What happens if we also.lower the kpa does it mean scaring is not as bad as originally thought do you know

I'm not sure how it works I think you still have the scarring with cirrhosis and the fibroscan reads liver stiffness. You need to ask your consultant or GP about this.

Thank you I'm assuming as long it's not getting stiffer it's no worsening I will ask

HUGE congratulations! That is fantastic news! What are you doing for such excellent results, if you don’t mind me asking. I apologize if you’ve explained this already. I haven’t been on the app in awhile.Really happy for you! I know the dedication it takes.

Thanks for your reply. The main thing firstly is to stop the cause and help to heal the liver if possible. I have a healthy eating plan, total abstinence of Alcohol and Cigarettes and most of all plenty of exercise ie.walking 10000 + steps a day if possible or cycling. I hope these answers help.

Hi there did you see a dietician for your eating plan ,i had a fibroscan one side said 22 the other 19 dont really no what they mean she just said see your doc as your liver is stiff

Hello, yes I did see a dietician for 2 sessions and then was told I didn't really need to visit again because my diet was everything they expected me to be following. Contact your GP if you're not sure about your fibroscan results and they will probably take blood tests .
