Hi all, well today I start my radiotherapy out of 5 over the next couple of weeks. I hope and pray this works out for me. I am very positive and have been since being diagnosed with liver cancer. Of course, I shall inform you how it goes for me.
Regards
Mick

Good morning Mick, well done for being and staying so positive, stare it in the face cause youβve got this, take each day as it comes and keep moving forward, take care
Hi Mick, I was diagnosed with liver cancer in January this year and started a series of 5 treatments of radiation in February. It sounds like you are having the same type of radiation sessions as I did called SABR,
If you are having the same please let me know and I will help you with what to expect to ease you mind.
Hi Steve, many thanks for your reply, Yes I am having the same radiotherapy to what you have had. I have another 4 radiotherapy treatment with the second one tomorrow, I found it very hard with the mouth piece but got through the radiotherapy in the end. I am still keeping positive on having liver cancer. Any tips to give to me I would be so grateful.
Hi Nick, the mouth piece was like a snorkel to me but I got on with it ok, the nose piece seemed a bit tight, but then again if it does its job and stops air then it's worth it. How did you get on with the breathing and holding your breath, it takes a bit getting used to it and when they say breath out and hold for 25 seconds it's hard going.
It sounds like you are doing well and now know what to expect during the next 4 treatments.
I am a few months down the line, so if you would like any questions please fire away. I will help you all you want as we are on the same path together.
Of course I will keep in touch Steve. I found holding my breath a bit hard going but got it in the end. I have my 2nd radiotherapy tomorrow. Of course I will keep in touch.
Hi Mick, I hope all goes well today with holding your breath.I am not sure how to make direct contact with you as although readers of our discussions follow our plight, somethings just can't be put "out in the open" here.
Or maybe I put my phone number on as long as I don't get calls for loft insulation or double glazing π€π
Hi Mick, just a quick note to see how your SABR treatment has been going. You don't have to reply straight away, as if you are anything like I was you may feel fatigued. I was going to use another word but fatigued will suffice for now.
Please feel free to contact me if you need to ask me something in private.
I am also being treated at BRI and happy to meet up when time and energy permits π
For the benifit of any others in our situation, I will still comment on here to assist them where I can on what we are going through.
I have had two radiotherapies last week and now have 3 more this week. I am finding the tube in your mouth hard as it is like my head is going to blow a hole lol. I have the SABR review on Wednesday, not sure what this entails and who do I see? Maybe you can help me with this.
Yes, like you, I am feeling fatigued, which I was warned about. I am feeling so tired at the moment, but I hope this will pass in time.
Would be good to catch up with you at the BRI over a cup of coffee.
Hi Mick,It sounds like you are going down ( or up.!) the same path as me.
The SABR review was done by the radiology team to see how you are feeling and really just to ensure that everything is going to plan, which sounds like it is.
What time are your appointments at BRI, as maybe I can pop up and meet you after for a coffee at the Costa there.
At the moment I am having my treatment at Oncology Hospital.
Yes, I do feel like going down and then back up again. I am feeling very positive tho.
Sounds good to me regarding the SABR meeting as I have mine on Wednesday at 12 noon. I have my last radiotherapy treatment on Friday at 2pm this is probably the best time to meet up say in their cafe at the main entrance.
I live in Whitchurch and my wife travels with me for support, we travel either by my stepdaughter or get taxis as you know there is nowhere to park. Which part of Bristol are you from?
Hi Mick, I am glad that you are staying positive as that's the way I looked at it also.My wife also was with me as not just for support, but also she remembers things and understands why I felt tired and a bit achy in the muscles.
Friday is perfect for us and as we come up from Weston super Mare by bus as its easier than finding parking as you say.
Probably 12:45 could be about right in the cafe by the entrance at BRI as if they are late with you we can just wait and "enjoy" their coffee.
Hi Mick, sorry I had the times wrong, that's what the treatment does to you, well that's my excuse π.Yes if we keep it at 12:45 at the treatment centre as that should leave us enough time to chat.
Many positive and heartfelt thoughts to you Mick. You will get through this I'm certain and at least "Santa" will be wishing you well as you are on his list of journeys. Good vibes to you and stay strong.
