GGT ALP ALT HIGH

hello just looking for some opinions. My liver enzymes have been elevated for quite a long time. Bilirubin is fine cholesterol triglycerides are slightly above normal. ALP 229 GGT 281 ALT 137. I never drink alcohol as I have a bad reaction to it like an allergy I guess. I’m also very sensitive to drugs so all I ever use is paracetamol or ibuprofen. Diet is not high in fats lots of vege only eat meat occasionally. Don’t do much exercise though. Pretty worried about the high levels. I’m booked for an untrsound on the 11th of June and am pretty nervous about what will show up.

Hi - are you overweight? Also how old and male/female? Wouldn’t worry about the scan . Let’s see what the results are? Is your diet high in carbs?

Slightly overweight probably menopause related. female 52. Just found out we have been drinking unfiltered rain water for the past 2 years and I drink a lot of water. There were supposed to be filters and when we went change them there were none there 😝

Diet not too high in carbs bread maybe 3 times a week just one piece at a time and pasta once a week mostly fish and vege and eggs. Lots of water and 2 cups of tea a day no coffee

Do love potatoes tho 😬 don’t them everyday

Diet sounds fine-weight can be an issue for some people-as bantam days some people just have liver enzymes- keep us posted

I've had the same for over 10 years, had all the tests including a biopsy, no cause for the elevated results found. Try not to worry.

Sometimes elevations in GGT with no other obvious significant causes can be a sign of insulin resistance, higher levels of insulin in your blood can raise that value, have you had your glucose levels tested?

Yes I had that done a couple of tests ago and it was fine so was iron
