I planned a 5k this morning, I looked at the BBC weather app which told me it was raining so I looked out the window and saw it wasn't so off I went.I hadn't looked to see what the wind was doing, or how cold it was! 😂.
I realised how harsh it was as soon as I got out so didn't have much of a warm up walk, let's face it I run at warm up pace anyway.
Headed for seafront, where the wind was coming straight off the north sea, so I grabbed at my hat before it blew away and headed for home.
Instead of 5k I ran 2k and was cold and blown about, but glad I went.
The photo was taken the other day, the waves were bigger today but I didn't go onto the sand as I didn't want to get blown away.
Run happy or rest well xx

Well done. It definitely feels a lot colder out there today than I thought it would. I think my run will get done this evening by running round and round the ground floor of the house - I might venture onto the patio, but not the garden itself as it’s very slippery!
The dreaded North Sea breezes, just looking at them out of the window is as close as I want to get. Well done for getting out there, that 2k probably took as much effort as a 5k in ideal conditions.
Thanks, against the wind it did, but I'm out to prove I can.....tomorrow it's swimming with grandson first time we did 10 lengths, second time 16.... Not sure how much of an increase I can keep up.
oh yes I can imagine an easterly is pretty chilly where you are now SueAppleRun . Mind you it’s pretty cold on the south coast today as well. 2k is definitely better than nothing at all. So well done for getting out.
I was a bit like you walk only lasted 2 km instead of 5 km. winds coming from the east sleet and rain. Freezing . So short walk. Well done going out and braving it.
Well done Sue! Given the weather at the moment and where you’re starting from, I think 2km is a real achievement! 5km is out there and just waiting for you!
Well done you and what a super photo'.... it certainly was cold yesterday and felt colder here too, than the thermometer indicated... although it never got above 4.5 all day!
Well done you, and me too, I'm still amazed that I can run after being pushed out of hospital in a wheelchair end of August, I thought that was it for running, but .....it's been a long hard slog. I'm swimming twice a week too which I never thought I'd do again 😁 go us eh?
I love the swimming as well. Had the perfect adult improvers class, but it got cancelled and I've not been back. I'll be back.
Well done on getting back out. Sometimes I wonder, when I'm on the IC, whether I'll ever get back. Ponder why I did it in the first place. Did I really enjoy it? |Then I remind my self that it is time to myself, (I've always run on my own), time to think, listen to music, get out in the country and try to improve my form. Oh, yeah! And it's good for you. (Never start a sentence with and).
weather is abysmal, don’t blame you for going home!
I have finally given in and decided it’s going to have to be treadmill running for me until this blooming weather improves. Feels a bit like cheating but either that or nothing at all ☹️
