Wet soggy runs, a lost phone and happy Sundays!

Just got back from a 25 min joggle, with 10min in, the heavens opening up, thunder making its grand, noisy entrance and rain pouring down. Once the rain came down in spaghetti-like strings, I didn’t dare take my phone out again from its safe, dry pocket. So the pic was at the beginning of the downpour!

But this was the wettest run I’ve done for a long time! We had to check all our waterbut connections on return, as everything was overflowing!

Also had to strip down in the kitchen afterwards, before heading upstairs to do my stretches and shower!

Hubby had been out saving the country side (plucking out Himalayan Balsam), and met me on the last wet 10 minutes, and once home he realised, he must have lost his phone when he was trying to catch up with me! (Did you hear that? “trying to catch up to me!”… because I was so fast. Ok, so I added the last bit. 😃😄

So he had to go out in the pouring rain again and search in and around the stream, looking for his phone!

And what do you know! He found it!!!

So we are both now very very happy!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Nice wet run for you today CBDB, nice photo, I can see the rain coming over that field with the trees blurred due to the rain, glad your husband found his phone.

Yeah, finding the phone just made our day!

Yes, the last things you won't want to lose are the keys of your house, bank card and nowadays your Mobile Smartphone.

And a Happy Sunday to you both, that sounds like a lot of rain but fun, glad the phone is found.

Yes. Our delirious happiness was almost worth the moments of fear of having lost the phone.

(But knowing hubby, I thought he’s me have a good chance of finding it again. He tends to be ultra-lucky that way, and has quite a bit of practice of finding things as he also looses things often 😄🤣.

He once (decades ago) forgot his wallet in the middle of Glasgow in a phone booth, and half a day later, it was still there!

Another time we were hiking for a whole day and having returned to our bikes, he realised he’d lost the keys to our bike locks. He started to retrace his steps, and a few meters from the start, someone had carefully out the key on a stile 🤣🤣🤣

I could go on … 🤣🤣🤣)

Happy Seafront Day! I’m jealous of your lovely seaside routes! Despite sloggy sands! 👏👏👏

Very lucky. I'm toying with the idea of a later in the day run, might miss the seafront today and explore inland a bit. This week I intend to go somewhere I can park and start to explore the broads. Everywhere is so different to Sussex, but there are green leafy lanes too that reminds me of home. It still feels weird being in an area where my mum grew up and my grandparents spent the last half of their lives, but it's beginning to feel like home, and I can go shopping without the satnav now 🤣

Satnav! 🤣🤣 Well done!

Having moved in the average every 2 1/2 years, I currently enjoy the stability of living in one place for longer. But I do get ‘the moving itch’ in 2.5 year intervals. We’ll see. In the worst case, I’ll rearrange rooms in our home again. Makes me happy, less so hubby! 🤣🤣🤣 But we have an old, dilapidated couch house which is just shouting out to become my garden office! Just need to save up enough and some annual leave to get started.

Ha ha, I moved a lot when younger, and moved furniture round every so often, drove my husband nuts, have fun with the garden office

That does sound like a wet one! No running for me today but we got caught in a real downpour whilst out walking yesterday!💦🚶‍♀️‍➡️🤣

Oh dear. 😅 for some reason, I prefer running in the rain to walking in the rain. But don’t know why? 🤔☔️

Yep, totally agree - I quite enjoy running in the rain too ( just wasn’t a ‘run’ day today!) 🌧️🏃‍♀️🌧️🙂
