On 23rd April, I came back from Week 1 Run 1 of C25k purple faced, sweating, wheezing and saying I canβt do this! It was another week until I plucked up the courage to do Run 2. This morning, 8 months to the day since that first attempt, I ran 10k without stopping in1 hour and 8 minutes. Still purple faced and sweaty mind you. I got up in the pitch dark, rain pouring down outside and foggy and OH drove me to Clumber Park. By then the rain had eased slightly and we all lined up and off we went - mud, puddles, wet leaves! Along tracks, through the woods and alongside the lake. 3 laps and a bit and Iβd done it. Thank you ju-ju- for your fantastic plan and thank you also to my VRBs (you know who you are) who have inspired, motivated and amused me in equal measure over the last few weeks. Think I might take a couple of days off nowπ A very happy Christmas to you all ππΎ

WoooHooo!
Congratulations on your 10K Spitfire-Sandie!
Cripes! It sounded like an army assault course rather than a sleepy National Trust park π ...very exciting indeed by the sounds of it πββοΈ
Well done, you look really happy π Amazing what we can all do when we put our minds to it. Hope youβll be sticking around youβre an inspiration to us and brilliant fun on the forum.
...Now to relax and enjoy the festivities! Merry Christmas Sandie! πβ‘οΈβ¨π
Thanks TS! Youβre a fab VRB, now shove up on that podium and let me climb up ππ. I am so happy and so proud of myself. Iβll keep posting - got the Lincoln 10k in April, so I have to keep going. Donβt think Iβll be heading for half marathon land though!
Merry Christmas to you too ππΎπ
Hahaa! That podium is all yours Sandie! Feels great doesnβt it?! Weβre 10K runners now! π

Well done! Thatβs a massive milestone. πππ
Brilliant, well done and a very handy time as well π
Thanks Chris! My original target after C25K was sub 30 5k, but having failed to get below 33 I decided maybe Iβm built for distance rather than speed and I now find I prefer the longer runs. I am not going to do half marathon though!
Im exactly the same although I occasionally get close to sub 30 (missed by 42 secs yesterday).
When I got to 10k I said that was it distance wise, same at 15k, 2 HMs for me this year and 2 planned for next ππ. I guarantee you will start thinking about pushing on once you have done a couple more 10s
Awesome stuff! Well done you. Have a great break π
Huge congratulations to you and very well done. It's a very satisfying distance and you should feel very proud of yourself.
Love the photo - you look so happy π€ Happy Christmas to you π
Thanks Irishprincess! Iβm still grinning. It feels amazing.
Happy Christmas to you too π₯
Well done! 10k is my target for next year...
Absolutely amazing! You're brilliant. Very inspiring also. I started C2K5, around 8 months before I plan to do my first 10k. I'm now 6 weeks in and you have made me feel like I'll definitely get there. Thank you! Merry Christmas

I'm still doing my 5k's and was thinking 10k seems so so far! You just made it feel a little closer!
Thanks Anren! Go for it. Ju-juβs plan is brilliant if you need some structure and a nudge to continue going out 3 times a week.
Have a lovely Christmas ππΎ
πππππππ 10k.!!!
Well done Sanding πΈ
I agree you should take a couple of days off. Take on board some carbs. Then you can do another 10k later in the week π
Have a great Xmas to you and yours!

Wow, that is fantastic! I've just graduated, done my 2nd Park Run, and have been seriously considering backing out of my original plan to do a 10k in May, 7 months after starting C25K. Having just read your post, I am encouraged to go for it, so thank you for sharing the news of your success, it has inspired me not to stick to my original goal!
