I ran my 50th 10K this morning as part of the Spring HU 10K in a time of 1:12:43 which is about 5 minutes faster than #49 four weeks ago, I saw 5 other runners all going the opposite direction and said 'good morning', the weather was cloudy but dry, a very light east wind, high humidity with a temperature of 13C/55F.
HU 10K AlMorr #50: I ran my 50th 10K this... - Bridge to 10K
HU 10K AlMorr #50

Congratulations on your 50th 10k AlMorr and such a great time. It's not easy running in humidity. Good on you sir!

Congratulations on your milestone 10k! Great going too!!!! ๐ฅณ

Well done Al, that's a great time, and congratulations on your 50th 10k

Excellent running, Al, for your 50th 10K and your HU10K. Itโs a great time, too! ๐๐๐๐

Congratulations Al, quite a milestone there and a great time too ๐๐

Great run Al!! Many congratulations on your 50th 10K ๐๐ Hereโs to the next 50 ๐

Congratulations! So much to celebrate there ๐๐๐ We ran very similar times, but you pipped me to the post๐ฅ
Thank you very much linda9389, as it's not a race I am not too bothered if I pipped anyone or they pipped me, as long as we enjoy our running that's the main thing, isn't there a link somewhere for that Healthunlocked 10K ๐ฅ medal?,
You're right Al, we're all winners! It was the fact that our times were so similar - just seconds apart - that made me remark on it.
Here's the link again to order that well deserved medal sprinterssportswear.co.uk/p...
I went to the Sprinters sportswear to pay for the medal using my bank account Debit card, I got a reply back thanking me but they don't take card payments and told me to pay by PayPal, I then went to PayPal but the first thing they wanted was my Debit card number which Sportswear don't accept.
I think debit card should be ok if you go through paypal because it is paypal processing the debit card rather than Sprinters.Alternatively, do you use online banking Al? If so, you can use the Direct Bank Transfer option on the final Billing Details page on Sprinters website, and then use your online banking to make an online payment directly from your bank to the account number and sort code that Sprinters email you
No, I don't use online banking, but I will try the PayPal way and see what happens, thanks for that information.
I hope it works out for you. By all means PM me if you don't want to put something on here. Either way, I'd love to know how you get on ๐ค

Well done Al and congratulations on your 50th 10K ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ผ

YEAYYYYY !!!! WOW! That is fantastic and what a great time too ...blimey Al ! Dry too.... lucky you... we have had torrential rain here today... I was thinking about you this morning!
Just super. Well done my friend xxx
Thanks Floss, I replied on the other forum, the rain arrived at 14. 30, quite heavy with a rumble of thunder at 15:00, it's now ordinary rain with no thunder.
๐๐Your 50th Al!!! Congratulations so proud of you! ๐

Great stuff AlMorr - well done on your 50th 10k,๐

50th! Congratulations and speedy too!

Brilliant work Al! You just keep producing amazing run after amazing runโฆ.and a great time too. Swirl time !!!!
Swirl time for me is on a Wednesday and Saturday after my ๐๐พ run BC66, thanks, I also eat a swirl after a bike๐ฒ ride on a Sunday morning and after fish and chips on a Monday evening ๐
๐ we should advertise that as great running dietโฆ.you are doing really well on it.
I weighed myself the other day, my latest weight is 67 Kilograms, 10 and a half stone which is OK, so the odd fish supper or ice cream swirl is fine.
Definitely; you need the calories to cope with your runs. I have dropped to around your weight now, courtesy of a โpre diabeticโ dietโฆ.there is over a stone less Beachcomber! VO2 Max has shot up thoughโฆ.hence the 10 mile pb.
Food โฆI need to make porridge!
Despite being Scottish, I don't eat porridge, before my run yesterday my breakfast was a bowl of Nestle Cheerios, a slice of brown bread and a drink of semi skimmed milk with strawberry Nesquik, waited one hour and started my run.
Yes; I wait an hour tooโฆindigestion on a run would not be fun!

Marvellous, Al. You are an inspiration to us all.

Well done AlMorr ! Great run and what an inspiration you are to the rest of us.๐๐๐

Fantastic AlMorr ,that's an excellent time, very well done to you! ๐And happy 50th 10k too! X
Thanks aliboo70, I was sort of hoping to get a time of around one hour ten minutes, I don't listen to music when running or cycleing, only walking, but I do have a metromone cadence app, yesterday I set it at 175 beats per minute, my split 5K time was 36:06, two weeks ago I ran 5K in 32:38 with cadence at 178 per minute, if I could keep that up for 10K my time yesterday would have been around 66 minutes.

That's amazing Al, well done! Great time too, you seem to be getting fitter.I stopped running due to Covid followed by a series of viral infections, but you inspire me to start up again!
Have a great day. ๐

Excellent time! Something for me to aspire to, thanks!

Thanks Kjb04, I am glad that I have aspired you run๐๐พโ๏ธ๐

I was watching out for your post Al, big congratulations on completing not only the HU10K but your 50th too, fabulous ๐๐๐
Thanks Run46, yes it was my 50th 10K, I remember when running 5Ks I thought to myself that 5K was long enough but the running bug got to me so I increased my distance to 10K, ALL of my 10Ks have been running, no stops or walking, I ran a half marathon in November 2022, during that run there were a few walking breaks, mainly up a few hills.

Thatโs fantastic Al, great time and your 50th 10k. You deserve to celebrate ๐.
Thanks Mudita11, I celebrated that run and my 78th birthday today by buying a pair of new running shoes, 15% off as a birthday offer, the full cost is ยฃ135 but with 15% off they were ยฃ114.75 for me, the shoes are "Brooks, Men's Ghost 15 Running Shoes, Peacoat", I will wear them at parkrun tomorrow.
Al, I just bought the same shoes!! The Ghost 16 are coming out soon so I got mine at a reduced price too. Happy Birthday to you! Lots of celebrating this week for you ๐๐ป

Congratulations on your 50th 10k Al. Thatโs amazing and a fabulous time. 5 minutes quicker than last time is a fantastic result.

Congratulations x 50!!!! (Iโm not going to type that all out!!!)
Great run and a great achievement, not just today but all the other runs youโve done. Amazing Al!
Thank you very much MissUnderstanding, I enjoyed that run on Wednesday, today is my 78th birthday, I got a offer to buy new running shoes at 15% off as a birthday present, so I bought a new pair of Brooks Men's Ghost 15 Running Shoes, Peacoat, I went a very short 1K test run, they are very comfortable, tomorrow I will wear them at parkrun.

Brilliant running AlMorr and what a superb achievement ๐ ๐ 50 x 10k ๐ฏ๐ Long live the King ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

Such an inspiration AlMorr . Congrats ๐ฅณ x

Sorry Iโm late AlMorr . Congratulations on your HU10K which was also your 50th 10k. It looks like you are running in a beautiful place too - running around water is so refreshing.
That's OK Dexy, where I go for my walking, running and bike rides is a local beauty spot, couldn't be further from the sea, dead centre of Central Scotland, the water in that loch on the map enters a stream and eventually reaches the River Clyde which reaches the Atlantic Ocean 50 miles away to the south west, at the east end of Cumbernauld where I go for Palacerigg parkrun a steam that the runners cross eventually reaches the River Forth and reaches the North Sea 50 miles to the east.
Congratulations to UpTheStanley on being 2nd quickest on the HU Spring 10K โ๏ธ, we were around half way position.
