10k run and a new time by the canal
Congratulations, great 10K run for you today Tessie66, well done, βοΈ I hope you enjoyed it as you say it was better than that 6K last week.
Lot better straight from work into the run
Tessie66 just so you know, AlMorr is King. If he likes it then I like it βπππ
Brilliant you are both great guys and very knowledgeable
I'm 50 so around your age. I get it for sure π running has literally changed my life!!
Superb stuff my man! Always a good solid distance to run ππππ
Let me tell you both GTFC and Tessie66 that I got into running after watching on TV The Great Scottish Run of 2017, I have been a cyclist since I was 7, I did run a few 100 yard dashes when I was in Primary school which I often won but despite the wins at running I preferred the bike and didn't do any more running until 2017 when out my Sunday morning walks I tested myself thinking about restarting running, so after doing a test 5K with walking intervals in 42 minutes I began C25K with run 1 of week 1 on the 18th April 2018 and graduated with run 3 of week 9 exactly 2 months later on 18th June running that 30 minute run along the seafront prom at Helensburgh which is about 30 miles from where I live, I still cycle about once a week on a Sunday from May to September and occasionally other days too.
That's absolutely brilliant π, you are very much someone to look upto, Still amazes me the amount of older people you see (I include myself in this) at parkrun and how quick they can run
At Dunfermline parkrun there are two runners who are in their 80's and run regularly sub 40 minute 5Ks, I will be 78 in just over a month's time, I hope to keep running until I get to 80, after that I might "retire" from running but volunteer more often
Love it AlMorr πππβ
Brilliant hope I can still run at your age
I am as surprised as anyone Tessie66 that I could run when I began C25K in 2018, I didn't start reporting my runs until week 4 just in case I couldn't continue but after week 4 I began reporting as I was confident I could complete the course although I didn't get much sleep the night before that third run of week 5 πI ran that run and all the others without repeating any runs or week's, last Sunday during my Sunday morning walk I repeated the 8/60 second runs and 7/90 second walks of week 1 of C25K to celebrate my 6th anniversary of starting C25K in April 2018.
