For some reason I don’t mind being caught by the rain (within reason) but I put off actually setting off in the rain. I hate it.
Consequently, I hadn’t run for 4 weeks, gradually feeling less and less fit. But this morning was the time to break the habit and I set off in the wet.
It was hard, cold and slow, and a strong westerly hit me on the climbs. But it’s done, and that excuse is dead and buried.

Well done to you HeavyFoot on getting out and going a run despite the wet conditions, no excuse as you say not to go out in the rain, if the rain isn't too heavy I go out for a short run, usually 3K in the park very near to where I live, only a two minute walk from my house.
Hi Al. Good to hear from you ! I thought about the other day - you’re a bit older than me. How are you finding running - I’m getting gradually slower although I do my best. Strange to think that the height of my performance was at the age of 65.
Hello HeavyFoot, I am still running, but no more than 10K, like everyone else I am getting a little slower, not had a sub. 31 minute 5k sin ce August 2022, but still running 5K at parkrun in around 32/35 minutes, my peak was in the Autumn of 2021 when I got a PB time of 30:09 at Drumpellier Parkrun, a few other PB's at other parkruns, a 10K PB of 1:08:40, managed to get a PB ten miles of just over two hours and a half marathon of 2:57:30,, that HM was in memory of the late great Tim (IannodaTruffe)
