I’ve been following the magic plan and finally did 10k this morning 😄. I’ve been reading your stories and tips and just wanted to let you all know you keep me going! Never thought I’d make 10k, so now for lots of consolidation runs and then who knows what’s next?!

Outstanding - really well done! (I'm on the plan too, but a few k down on you - and I'm doing time, rather than distance.)

I am doing time too and even that has tweaks!

I have reached 50 minutes, but with a few days off and feeling very weak indeed, I may hold for a while!

I did 50 minutes today...just 6K though...but the weather tried to floor me on the last km...

Congratulations Redbook5. I think a first 10k strikes a chord with all of us who have made that journey. Mine (a very cautious effort) was on Boxing Day 2018! I ran a second the week afterwards and picked up the pace a little bit, having proved to myself that I could “get” the distance.

I found the journey from 10k to 10 miles easier than going from 5k to 10k. It makes sense in that you will have built up fitness and leg strength getting to 10k, and so things feel a bit easier. O -5k is much harder!

I find that I have to be more careful about post run stretches on longer runs, and I do some strength exercises; but nothing dramatic! So, when you ready, you can look forward to the next steps…..but for now? Celebrate 👏👏👏👏🥂🥇

Thank you, some good food for thought here., and really encouraging. Think I will do another 10k next week, all being well. First one too me 68 mins. I will certainly keep reading posts on here for inspiration! Long may our running journey continue!
