5k Saturday parkrun 10k Monday

Hill reps tonight from the nike running app

3x mile pace

3x5k pace

3x10k pace

5 minutes slow running cool down pace

Thursday I play six a side football ⚽️ .

Anyone tell me is this OK or is it to little or to much or should I mix it up more and also should I start thinking about changing my diet because I'm generally eating what the family eats and nothing different

Well done, perhaps you could space it out a little more, don't run on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, by all means keep going to your six a side football on Thursday, of course that involves a lot of running too, perhaps a rest day on Friday before parkrun on Saturday, a short 3K on Wednesday, rest from any runs on Tuesday and Sunday, I wouldn't want you to overdo it or get injured

🍏 AlMorr has given great advice. You seem to be fit and flourishing but do have rest from running days in between to avoid injury!! Glad you are enjoying your running!

I guess my question is you were following a programme to build up to 10k? You ran 10k when you were planning to do 7k. What would the next long run of your programme have been? I’d personally be dropping back to that so I didn’t have a sudden jump in my distance, which would put me at greater risk of an injury. I’ve been on the injury couch and it’s no fun at all.

Apart from that, it looks like you’ve got some nice variety and a fun week planned!

I've been mixing the nike runs up mainly 5ks but also Fartleks hills and sprints the 10k I didn't think I was ready but did it and probably will drop back down to a 7k

Hi Tessa66 I have to agree with MissUnderstanding. I think maybe I would definitely jump back to 7k for fear of injury and tiring too quickly.

Maybe increase gradually just to be on the safe side or alternate. Do two runs that are comfortable 6k or 7k and have one long run. Alternatively you could increase your run maybe by a km gradually until you feel comfortable at continuously doing 10km. It is entirely your call. However what you don’t want is to end up injured and having to recover longer. Don’t rush and just enjoy your running. Everyone is different and there is no “one fits all “scenario. What is good for some one else may not be good for yourself.

There is of info online about diet and what you could eat.Take a look.

Hope this helps.👍
