NRC 10k Plan - first run done

Finally the wind and rain have stopped so today was the 'official' first run of the 10k plan. I did 3k the other day but decided that as Coach B wasn't with me it didn't count.

In the beginning it was hard work. I spent a long time at my desk yesterday and probably didn't drink enough water so the legs were a bit leaden. It was all fine by the end.

Looking at my splits afterwards the middle one was the slowest. This was the stretch with the choice between deep puddles and deep mud. Plus I was distracted by the dredger starting to trundle around the marina. If it doesn't constantly keep at it the whole thing would silt up. The joys of the Thames Estuary area :)

By the time I got home I was feeling pretty good until my husband informed me that the boiler had packed up so there was no hot water. Boiled a kettle for him then realised we have an electric shower at the bottom of the garden so I had a rather draughty wash there. Pretended I was on a basic campsite and reminded myself that the cold is good for you.

Happy running :)

Wow! What a start to the New Year, hope the boiler is fixed soon. I'm enjoying following this plans posts and others progress, can't wait to get started, end of January I reckon as long as I take it slow

Poor you with your boiler! What a nightmare. I hope it’s fixed quickly. That is not the idea end to a muddy wet run!!!

Luckily the guys are coming to fit the new one tomorrow so hopefully only one more day of outside showers, It's actually quite nice as long as there's no chilly breezes :)
