Oh what a beautiful morning for a run! Sunshine, temperature approaching double figures, marvellous. No need for a hat today!
Uh-oh, I'd forgotten about the low winter morning sunshine. Running eastwards for the first part of the run I could barely see anything at all but it was good to be out there. Hair in the eyes (not tied back, what was I thinking?), dazzle in the lenses, watering eyes. Never mind, too late to turn back.
The run was NRC's Next Speed Run, 26 minutes at varying paces with 1 minute recovery. I thought I'd chosen a relatively puddle free route but I was wrong. Rather than concentrating on dear old Coach B's words of wisdom my main priority was not sinking ankle deep in mud or worse still going head over heels as I tried to do my 'best pace'. Thankfully no mishaps today.
Once I'd completed the speed run I did a little gentle jog to get back to the proper path, then a stroll home, proper cooldown.
That's another one off the list, I'm enjoying this

I wasn't going to let anything spoil my mood. You know that thing in the Mindfulness runs - note the intrusive thought then let it go? I think I was doing that.
So what if I can't see where I'm going, embrace it 😂😂😂
🍏Sunny speed run for you & easy recovery run for me… but we both were caught out by the low sun. Maybe because we have forgotten what sun looks like … glorious today, I agree! Xx
Sounds fabulous...just great You had a heck of a run and you had fun.... Positivity.... in all things... the sun was in your eyes... but it was sunshine, not rain or cold
