Hello all,

I’m delighted to have been asked to host the 10K and 60 minute running badges this month.

Happy New Year everyone. January is here and it's time to get back out running to burn off the Christmas tummy. It is also time to reset and perhaps make new challenges. If you want to run for an hour or run 10K you've come to the right place, it's cold and dark out there. So anyone who completes their first 10K or 60 minute run this month will have earned it. Huge congratulations to you.

Best of luck and I’ll keep an eye out so as to issue badges when required.

If you are reading /searching for this post and you are replying then you must have run for a longer distance or a longer time…& that is absolutely fantastic…bet your 5k journey seems like an age ago??!! Let me be the first to congratulate you!!!

How did it feel starting on your 10k plan?

What spurred you on?

What kept you going?

What are your plans as you move on?

There might be some ideas here:

Or if you fancy going further, check out this link where you can talk about all things distance & race etc…

So, reply to my post and I will award you with your virtual badge…good luck wherever your running journey takes you 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️…enjoy yourselves, that’s what it’s all about …

Happy running,

Damien

Woo! I have just run for 60 minutes! Am sitting down now with a well deserved breakfast of overnight oats and a cup of tea. I am so pleased, it's such a nice way to start the year.

I'm going to ease up on the distance for a couple of months, but continue with 2 or 3 runs a week, add in some hill sprints occasionally. Then will start training for a 10k race which is looking like it will be in June - just confirming with some friends.

Congratulations 👏👏👏 That's a real achievement to be proud of. Hopefully the glow and confidence from this will keep you going for that 10k race. Well done ⭐

Thank you - yes I'm really pleased. I restarted running almost on a whim in maybe February last year, and I'm so glad I did! Can't wait to do more (just impatient for this 10k now).
