Last run as the old year ebbs away

I thought I was finished with running for 2023 but then I looked at my total distance run for December. 1.21 km short of 30 km. That should only take me about 10 minutes if I run as fast as I can, won't matter if I overdo it for such a short distance.

Told my husband I was going for a 10 minute run. He liked the sound of this. Long story short, we decided to run up to the marina and back so that was just over 2 km. We both started way too fast but never mind, sometimes it has to be done.

The tide was out and very low, with the ends of the pontoons barely floating. The south westerly wind must be pushing the water out to sea. The sun came out as we left the house. Running was a good decision. The wind was almost on our backs on the way home so that helped.

Less than 20 minutes later I was home, goal achieved, with almost enough time to eat my breakfast and then get lunch on the go. OK, we didn't finish eating until 3pm but who's counting when you're enjoying yourself?

Happy New Year everyone!!

Sounds fab. What a good way to end the year. I'm envious of your coastal runs they look and sound brilliant. Happy New Year with many running adventures 🏃‍♀️🏃
