No running whatsoever last week. A couple of very short walks during the week, a long and really brisk walk in London (to view Sondheim), and a reasonable local walk yesterday. I have also done my basic 10 minute stretches and my standing on one leg toothbrushing for the last three days.
Running though is out of the question. Finally went to the docs this morning and though a test is pending to confirm it, it seems there's no infection, but something viral is laying me low. I was told that the cold or whatever it was ages ago made me vulnerable to whatever happened along - hence I am still coughing six weeks later. I'm too knackered to run!
Still, it's good I was well enough to walk over the weekend ( I'm definitely not today) and my back is happy that I am stretching again. I want to add a teeny bit of resistance work into the mix, but will wait for a day or two when my muscles are not so hurty from coughing all night.
So - I get to be all vicarious over YOUR running for a bit longer!
Happy running (and walking and stretching and yoga-ing, and pilates-vating).

Vicariate as much as you need … wait … is that actually a word? Well, … if not then it should be.
Sending over lots of patience. It sound like you could use lots of it.
What I do when a have to lay low is I plan my next training plans, and the act of planning is - at least for me - almost as enjoyable as the running or working out itself!
(But I know not everyone likes planning as much as I do)
I need to add more exercises back into my routine and that's something I can look into. The planned addition of more pilates again, plus some strength work too.
And I definitely feel as though the running stamina I had has all drained away! I'll be planning shorter runs for a while!
Not sure this post will help, but it’s one where I listed different plans to get to 5k, as I wanted a new C25k experience. healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...
Thank you! I did have a plan pinned up a week or so after I graduated at the start of the summer ... just before I got injured and had to stop running! I'll go into it gently, but would like to start to build up again.
Great to see you! Sorry the runs are on hold but you’re doing so many things that will put you in a really good position when you’re able to return. You might feel like you’ve lost fitness but you could have gained a load of strength which will stand you in great stead and hopefully minimise your risk of injury again.
Keep the photos coming and keep up that recovery! It’s a tough position to be in and sending you loads of good wishes ❤️
Oh heck... this is not happy news... but you do know what is what!
Rest...Heal...and Recover... and yes, I know I am always saying it... but, the runs do wait. They are all the sweeter when we take them too.
So vicarious running it is... and you can come out with me on a Week 8 Run 2....probably Thursday ...oh and don't worry it will be really slow and really steady !
