Two birds, one stone

The last couple of days the weather here has been my least favourite, very windy. When I went to bed last night it was howling and rain was beating on the windowpane. I've barely managed 3,000 steps a day since Sunday (I blame work lol) and, as I fell asleep, was resigning myself to another day of inactivity.

This morning was completely different. It was dry, calm and cool, Perfect. I drank a coffee, a glass of beetroot juice and lots of water and was out the door with NRC's Triple 7s loaded up and ready to go. This is one of my favourites, three 7 minute runs at 5k pace. The days of rest must have helped as I definitely had a spring in my step, it all felt easy even though I was doing a decent pace.

Once the guided run finished I was about 1.5km from home. After waiting for my heartrate to drop a little I set off for a gentle run the rest of the way home. By the end I'd covered 5km, so I got a 2-for-1 interval run and 5k and felt very pleased with myself :)

I enjoyed myself so much I forgot to do half my cooldown exercises, oops!

Thanks, I was so relieved the wind had dropped. Not feeling any after effects today from the missed cool down either (so far) 😁🤞

Well done, I'll have to look that run up, it sounds like my kind of run

It's a perfect cross between an ordinary run and an interval run and you get to have a couple of rests in the middle, great 😀

That sounds like a brilliant run-it’s great when those interval type ones also tick off 5k. I did one that came up on my garmin the other day with quite a long warm up and cool down and was amazed that I’d actually done a decent mileage which wasn’t in my mind at all. I guess the faster run parts are great for distraction!

I haven’t tried that particular NRC run yet-one for next week I think! Thanks for the recommendation. Maybe we need a thread for our favourites!

A favourites thread would be great (mind you would it bring all the 'I don't like Coach Bennett' crew out of the woodwork?? 😂
