So my last run was a 10K and this one was due to be either 5K or 3K .
I decided on the 5K and a morning run as my 2nd vaccination is early this afternoon !
And It's actually 6 days since my last run so I didn't want to miss another day
I chose to do the NRC 35 minute recovery run and then just extend at the end to complete the 5k
The weather was dry and reasonably warm at around 10 or 11 degrees
So shorts and short sleeved top were just right
Started off at a reasonable pace (for me) and just wanted to take in the advice and information from Coach and Andy P and relax and enjoy the run without music .
It was quite a comfortable run with no issues which makes it much more enjoyable, running in the moment makes such a difference .
I follow my usual 5k route , it's nice to pace myself by landmarks and not keep staring at my watch .
I can also consider how I feel at a certain point on the run compared to last time .
This familiarity adds to the mindfulness of the run for me !
I was so into the run that I didn't even consider the inclines , they just passed me by which is nice .
There is an interesting point made towards the end of the run saying that the success of the next run starts with the recovery from this one !
A very good point, especially for new runners if you were thinking of skipping rest days !.
So, 5K done .
Home and stretches done and a big mug of tea π
Happy running VR friends πππββοΈπββοΈ
