Hooray for the Happy Pace!

Warning: no PBs were smashed in this post.

But.......ye olde happy pace was found, I did a 5k PW, carried on to 6K and it was bl**dy marvellous! A cracking day as well.

I decided to warm up with an incredibly slow first 5 mins after the warm up walk. It was so slow I was a bit embarassed as I shuffled my way past the occasional dog walker. By 5 mins in the chest felt good, breathing steady so I eased into a slighter faster but still very slow pace. It was brilliant! So much so that i decided to make this a long run - but i eventually realised I wasn't fuelled up enough. (I eat very little for breakfast and I set off at noon). So I compromised by keeping to 6k. Just as well - i was absolutely ravenous by the time I got home!

Happy days!!! A happy snail makes for a happy pace!

That looks like a really lovely place to run. It's been a lovely day here but now getting really cold as the sun is setting.Great distance as well. And you may think it was slow at the start but it couldn't have been that bad as you did actually pass the dog walkers even if it was at a shuffle 🤣

I may have put on a burst of speed to overtake - and one of them actually stopped to talk to their dog..... 🤭

Brilliant. A happy pace is a good pace. Result 👏👏👏👏

I do love a happy snail (unless they're eating my plants) and a happy pace. That's when it's like you can run forever!

That's what it felt like apart from my stomach starting to growl. 😆

Such a pretty time of year, and being out for a run is a glorious way to enjoy it. 😁👍

Gorgeous is a good word too, but I think reserved for summer! 😀

It really was one to wait for. The weather had been so grim and then this!

Awful here today.. nipped out to the track with the dog between showers this afternoon - jeffing meant tiptoeing round huge puddles, and only being able to run in the (very short) distances between them!

Arghh that's a shame. Good for you getting out in it.

It was nice to get out.. and the dog gets very insistent if she hasn’t had a decent walk by mid afternoon..😊

Well done you! I’ve just managed to do 8k at the slowest pace possible but first time since July. Really trying to get back into the groove! Looks like a great place to run!

I'm on the same trajectory- hoping to get back to 10k by the end of the month. Snails rule!!!

Sounds glorious 😊 I’ve just had a similar run after a long tiring week at work. It was a cold but bright deliciously slow 9k 😀. I was exploring a new route which also turned out to be a good extension to a current favourite so that was a bonus! All fuelled by a cup of tea and a couple of Hobnobs 😂. I took a drink and biscuits and forgot to have them because I was just ‘in the zone’ . What a great place to be. I love it when a run comes together 😂😂Hope you get many more runs just like it. It’s good for the soul 😊

What a beautiful photo. And well done for the distance. How do you manage to do a slow pace. Sometimes it feels so laboured that it feels more comfortable to walk or to go faster!I need to try to find ye olde happy pace too!!
