Saturday Park Run #25

So today was park run 25! A small milestone for me as it has taken me about 5yrs to get here! Due mainly to working most Saturdays until now!

I was awake before the alarm went off so thought I would do my walking homework to park run and my running homework which is park run!

I wasn’t sure last night if I would make having been back at work 3weeks now and start working and 06:30 every day has come hard after 5 months off due to my stupid shoulder!

Any way woke up In plenty of time to thought i would walk down to park run today! I arrived really early but stood chatting to my colleague Phil who had cycled over to park run this morning! Then saw my Son in law arrived followed by my daughter and grandson! Ed came running over saying gandma gandma and wrapping himself around my legs as he does!

Then he went off the the play park with Mummy while daddy and I do park run!

and just like that we are off! Felt a little more comfortable as I jogged along i suddenly realised I had forgotten my water bottle! I started to panic a bit at this through as I am a mouth breather and get a very dry mouth when I run! After giving myself a good talking to as I jogged a long i suddenly realised I hadn’t heard my pace come through my headphones looked at my watch and realised it hadn’t started! So hit the button about a 1k in! That’s 2nd time this week I’ve done that!

Anyway carried on round the course and made it to the end with a sprint finish!

Met up everyone at the end and went for a coffee with them all!

they are great fun! My son in law ran it on the morning of his wedding with his best man 4 yrs ago and got to the church on time! It’s lovely in that it is all inclusive no matter what your ability

I love doing something with my family! My grandson is only 2 but he knows Daddy and Grandma do park run together! He has grown up with it as part of his normal Saturday routine! We run & him and mummy go to the play park and come back to the finish line to clap 👏 Daddy & Grandma over the line! After years of saying to my son in law he should come and join B2R he joined the week before lockdown! 😂 fast forward he’s now a run leader so I actually see more of him in a week than I do my daughter and grandson 😂

That’s wonderful BGood! Maybe your grandson will join Junior PR when he turns 4? My older grandson is 4 in the middle of September and we can’t wait to take him along! His little brother will be 2 in September, and I already know he’ll want to join in too! ❤️ The hard part will be persuading him to wait two more years. 😅
