Second park run-improvement!

After the thunderstorm initiation, I thought I would try my local park run again today.

I managed to run the whole thing (5.3k) with no walk gaps, which felt amazing.

I think I beat my last time, will find out when the results come out. I spotted another vegan runner which was most exciting, however he looked v athletic and probably placed quite high so I was too shy to say hello.

Looking forward to seeing how I did. And now.....Coffee!

My brother is a vegan and beats the pants off me. He runs sub 20 min 5k 😳 Well done on getting through it without a walk! 👍 although there was a chap today who was doing the run/walk thing and he beat me. I almost stopped and tried it myself. Maybe will try it at some point.

lots of top athletes are vegan because it's the most efficient diet for training, apparently.

Same! Maybe I am missing something... 🤔

I did my first one today - and came last. i'm a vegan runner too. Didn't stop for coffee, but i find those events difficult sometimes because of my non dairy food needs.

Oh I meant I went home for a shower and coffee! :)

I'm not confident enough to go for the group post run coffee, and yes, never know if they have plant milk or not.

Well done on your first one, it's hard! Nice to meet (virtually) a fellow vegan runner. X

My niece’s boyfriend does duathlons and he switched from vegetarian to vegan in January.

Well done amalthea52. Do let us know your results when they come in. I think running the whole way is more impressive than running too fast then having to walk, even though it might be quicker. I get really annoyed with myself if I have to walk.

38.13.

1 min 36 secs off my previous time.

Happy with that!

Agreed, people that I overtook when they were walking beat me at the end!

Well done to you amalthea52!! I have just read a number of your posts, so more well dones! And taking 1 min 36 secs off your last time sounds great. I ran my first ever Parkrun today, quite something isn't it? Amazing there were 374 people at ours. Should appear on the news more often! Just so good to see all these folk on Parkruns. Saw a Dad and son holding hands as they ran. Aw! Congratulations! 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
